So one of my blogs converted and the other didn’t. I’ve figured out that to post a gif in a text post all you need to do is go to the html button and paste
<p><img src=”URL-OF-YOUR-IMAGE-HERE” /></p>
It should show up just fine.
BLESS YOU
Is there some sort of boycott idea in the works yet? I haven’t found one yet, so in case there isn’t, I’m starting one myself. I’m actively seeking reblogs here. I want to do something about this.
On January 31st, I am going to begin a full boycott of tumblr in protest. Not only will I not access the site for 48 hours, I will uninstall the app on my Droid, and I will be actively posting on my other frequently used sites saying that these changes are unacceptable. Yes, I will be publicly decrying it.
I will also be sending an email of protest, telling them to listen to what users actually say and implement what users actually ask for.
I encourage all of you to do the same.
From 12AM CST on January 31st to 12AM CST February 2nd, abandon tumblr, and send an email telling them what you think. If you have an app on your phone or mobile device, uninstall it, at least for those two days. If we can turn this into a mass movement, we might be able to make a change.
We don’t want tumblr to be like Twitter. We already have Twitter. We don’t want it to be like Facebook. We already have Facebook.
We want tumblr to stay like tumblr.
Don’t make us move back to LiveJournal, tumblr. No one wants that, but if you force us, we won’t hesitate to leave. In fact, there are enough smart coders on this site that we might not even need LJ. If you leave us high and dry, we’ll have no choice but to return the favor.
Heavily considering if tumblr really does fuck it up this time.
(tl;dr parts bolded)
Hello everyone. Due to final exams, Christmas, commissions, some heavy rewrites on my personal comic, and general Life Stuff, this page has been pretty quiet lately. But I wanted to make an announcement in light of the recent changes to Tumblr’s infrastructure that are currently being beta tested.
For those of you not aware, in order to compete with Twitter, Tumblr has proposed drastic changes to the dashboard and the posting system. There will be new limitations added to text posts, limitations that will make it harder to put together pages like the one I created for the last update. To make matters worse, users will no longer be able to choose the layout for photosets. These changes will potentially create numerous obstacles that will make it hard for me to compose the comic’s pages in the manner I would like to.
As a result, I’ve come up with three options that I will utilize if tumblr’s update is in fact rolled out, and is in fact as user-unfriendly as various bloggers have made it out to be. The first option is to switch to a one illustration per page configuration, similar to Homestuck or Ava’s Demon. The downside is that the rhythm of the pages will be radically different, but on a positive note the updates would be a lot more frequent. The second possible option is that the comic will be moved to Livejournal. The third option, which is admittedly the least likely at the moment, is that I would create an entirely new web page to host both this comic and my personal one.
I really love tumblr, and I will try to stay on here and work around the changes as much as possible. But if it isn’t possible, I will notify all of you regarding which option I’ve chosen. I’m also totally open to taking input from you guys on which of the three choices seems the most palatable. And if any of you have any other options you can think of, don’t hesitate to send an Ask.
Also, a big thank you to everyone who has given feedback on the comic so far. It’s been really helpful, and I appreciate the fact that you took the time to do so!
I’m back at school again and have a three day weekend ahead of me, so I’m going to work on the comic some more and will likely have something posted by Monday. Hang tight, everybody.

When I write the comic, I try to match the content of each scene with the appropriate media: dialogue-heavy moments are more suited to text, while important moments and action-heavy moments are more suited to still images and animation. I prefer to work this way because it gives me more freedom as an artist/writer. However, I’m curious what you, as readers, think of this approach to storytelling. Do you think it’s interesting or distracting or something in between?
Positive or negative, feel free to leave a response in the reblogs or in the ask box (or you could make a text post and tag it as “timewarcomic”). I want to know what you like/don’t like about the approach, and also what you’d like to see in the future (incorporating games maybe?).
Now usually I care more about the story and characters than the technical specs, but there’s a reason I’m asking this…
I ran the last page of the comic through Gizoogle
this is my christmas present to you all
EDIT: for some reason when I originally posted that sketch, the whole paragraph I wrote below the quote was deleted. so I fixed the post to include what I wanted to say.
“It all started as a mild curiosity in a junkyard…”
I realize I’m a tad late to the party in regards to the actual day, but this year marks the 49th anniversary of Doctor Who. And to commemorate the occasion, I’ve decided to do a sketch of the Doctor and Susan in front of the junkyard where it all began (granted the junkyard itself is a photo and not a drawing, but still). Although I myself first tuned in a little under a year ago, the show has already had an enormous impact on my art, my writing, and- because of the awesome fan community here on tumblr- my life. And I’m sure most of you could say the same. So thank you to the cast and crew that gave all of us at home the chance to run with the Doctor…and here’s to the next 49 years of sci-fi greatness!
